Dr. Benjamin D. Trump is the CEO of Dara Systems, LLC. His work centers on organizational and societal resilience and decision-making for complex systems, risk governance of emerging technologies, and critical infrastructure. For his contributions, President Biden awarded him a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) in January 2025, the highest federal honor for early-career researchers. Dr. Trump served twice as US Embassy Science Fellow to Turkmenistan, focusing on multilateral water security, and had engagements in Iraq, Jordan, and Libya.

He is the President of the Society for Risk Analysis and has contributed to numerous organizations including USAID, World Bank, NATO Science for Peace and Security, UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, OECD, and the International Risk Governance Council. Dr. Trump has published 9 books and over 100 peer-reviewed papers. During the COVID pandemic, Dr. Trump served as an emergency responder for two years, earning the US Army Civilian Medal for Humanitarian Service and Army Superior Civilian Service Award for hands-on work that saved many lives in his area of responsibility. Dr. Trump holds a PhD from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where he currently serves as Adjunct Associate Professor.
