Emmanuel Fragniere is Professor of Service Innovation and Risk Management at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO Valais), Switzerland. He holds a Licence in Econometrics and a PhD in Management Science from the University of Geneva, with further studies at EPFL and Stanford University. His career bridges academia and industry, beginning at HEC Lausanne and continuing through roles in the financial and commodity sectors at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise and Cargill. For the past two decades, he has served as a professor within HES-SO and taught for many years at the University of Bath. His work contributes to advancing sustainable and resilient service systems, particularly in tourism and energy. He has published in leading journals including Management Science, EJOR, and Digital Transformation and Society. He is also involved in EU projects on the social acceptance of micro smart grids (e.g. o-cei.eu) and serves as a RESER Council Member (European Association for REsearch on SERvices).
