He holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, complemented by studies in finance and international marketing at ICHEC Brussels Management School, and is a graduate of both the Higher Studies in Security and Defence Programme at the Royal Higher Institute for Defence and the Senior Strategic Course on Security & Defence at the European Security and Defence College. His career began in industry, serving as Industrial Marketing Manager at Philips Group and later as Marketing and Sales Director for Europe and the United States at Glaverbel–Asahi Glass, before he founded Omega Risk, an independent consultancy advising major international corporations and organizations on security, resilience, and strategic foresight. Alongside this, he has taken on numerous institutional roles, including Secretary General of the European Corporate Security Association and of the ATHENA alumni association, Director of the Advanced Programme in Police, Justice and Corporate Security, and academic posts at the University of Liège and Ghent University. He also serves on the boards of the Royal Higher Institute for Defence, the Egmont Institute, the Belgian Intelligence Studies Centre, and two royal orders societies, and is Honorary Consul of Lesotho to Belgium. He has been named an Officer of both the Order of the Crown and the Order of Leopold.
