Prof Jason Swettenham
Professor Jason Swettenham MBE is a distinguished criminal justice professional with over 33 years of experience in the UK prison system. Currently serving as Head of Prison Industries, Catering & Physical Education for His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, he specializes in managing high-risk operational environments and crisis situations, including violent incidents, hostage negotiations, and modern threats like drone incursions and synthetic drug trafficking.
Internationally recognized for his expertise, Jason has spoken at prestigious forums including the UN Congress on Drugs and Crime and the International Corrections and Prisons Association. He co-founded The Twinning Project, a FIFA-sponsored charity that uses football to reduce reoffending across six continents. He also serves as Visiting Professor of Criminology at the University of Manchester.
