Engineering Resilience for Performance, Protection and Growth

6-7 October 2026    |    Church House Westminster, London, United Kingdom

01 · ABOUT THE SUMMIT

The Resilience World Nexus Summit is a C-suite summit on resilience, risk and security, held at Church House Westminster on 6–7 October 2026 under the theme Engineering Resilience for Performance, Protection and Growth.

It brings together the people who carry organisational risk — chief resilience officers, chief security officers, general counsel, and heads of risk and continuity — from more than 100 organisations across corporate, government, academic and multilateral sectors. More than 100 speakers appear across 28 sessions and nine closed-door masterclasses, spanning three tracks: organisational resilience, resilient societies, and adaptation, governance and regulation.

The summit is guided by an Advisory Committee drawn from the resilience profession and supported by the Corporate Chief Resilience Officers Network convened by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction. Its academic network includes UCL, the University of Cambridge, EPFL and the University of Manchester. Swiss Re is Platinum Sponsor and McKinsey & Company is Knowledge Partner.

Alongside the main programme, nine closed-door masterclasses run across the two days in the Council Room — practitioner-led working sessions of 45 minutes each. These are held under closed-door conditions so participants can speak candidly, and are not open to press; briefings with facilitators can be arranged.

The Future Resilience Leaders Programme gives students and early-career professionals aged 18–34 full access to the summit, with mentoring and an innovation pitch.

"Resilience has become a balance-sheet issue": security and risk chiefs from Nestlé, Siemens, ABB and Swiss Re to meet in Westminster

More than 100 speakers from organisations worth a combined $1.3 trillion will gather at the Resilience World Nexus Summit 2026, as new UK cyber and operational-resilience rules move from consultation to enforcement.

LONDON, 06 October 2026 — Chief resilience officers, chief security officers and general counsel from some of the world's largest companies are meeting at Church House Westminster on 6–7 October for the Resilience World Nexus Summit 2026, a two-day summit on how organisations turn disruption into commercial advantage.

The summit convenes more than 100 speakers across 28 sessions and eleven closed-door masterclasses. Participating organisations represent a combined market capitalisation of $1.3 trillion and more than 900,000 employees. Swiss Re is Platinum Sponsor and McKinsey & Company is Knowledge Partner; the summit is supported by the Corporate Chief Resilience Officers Network convened by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).

The programme opens with a keynote from Sir Alan Duncan, former UK Minister and MP, followed by an address from Mathias Gaertner, General Counsel of ABB. Other speakers include Dr Abhilash Panda, Deputy Chief, Intergovernmental Processes, at UNDRR; Aleksander Petrov, Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company; Bobbie Ramsden-Knowles, Crisis and Resilience Partner at PwC UK; Ryan McGranaghan, Senior Data Scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory; Alexander Kamyshin, Advisor to the President of Ukraine; and Konstantinos Stergiopoulos, Chief Security Officer of Nestlé.

The summit arrives at a point of regulatory acceleration in the UK. The Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, which extends duties to around 1,000 organisations including data centre operators and managed service providers, is at committee stage in the House of Lords. In March 2026 the Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Authority published PS7/26, giving banks, insurers and designated investment firms until 18 March 2027 to comply with new operational incident and third-party reporting requirements.

"For years resilience was something you proved to an auditor once a year and then forgot about. Now it is something you prove to your investors, your insurers and your regulator, continuously. The organisations that work that out early stop treating resilience as a cost line and start treating it as a reason customers and capital choose them."

- Cedrick Moriggi, Chairman, RWN Summit Advisory Committee

The two-day programme runs across three tracks: Organisational Resilience: Threats and Opportunities; Resilient Living, Building Resilient Societies; and Adaptation, Governance and Regulatory Challenges. Sessions cover the future of cyber threats from quantum computing and voice-cloning fraud, societal resilience before and after conflict, the return on investment of resilience spending, and the widening skills gap in the profession.

"What is missing in this field is not analysis — it is a room where the people who actually carry the risk can compare notes honestly. That is why nine of our sessions are closed-door. The candid conversation is the product."

- Richard FitzHugh, Programme Director, RWN Summit 2026, and Co-chair, UNDRR Corporate Chief Resilience Officers Network

The summit also runs the Future Resilience Leaders Programme, giving students and early-career professionals aged 18–34 full access alongside mentoring and an innovation pitch. RWN Summit 2026 is guided by a 28-member Advisory Committee and works with ten universities including UCL, the University of Cambridge, EPFL and the University of Manchester.

THE VENUE

Church House Westminster is a Grade II listed building in Deans Yard, a minute's walk from the Houses of Parliament. Completed in 1940, it was requisitioned on Winston Churchill's instruction to house both Houses of Parliament for much of the Second World War, and the venue records that the first meetings of the United Nations Preparatory Commission and Security Council were held in its Hoare Memorial Hall. RWN Summit 2026 uses the Assembly Hall, the Hoare Memorial Hall, the Harvey Goodwin Suite and the Council Room.
